The Bearcats continued to play great baseball this weekend as they won the series against USF 2-1. UC won the rubber match in a 4-3 win in 14 innings. The game was the 2nd longest in school history. Joey Thomas played hero as he hit a walk off to lift the Bearcats. J.T Perez led the way on the mound for the Bearcats on Saturday. Perez had a career high 9 strikeouts in a 3-2 win. UC now sits at 14-13 (2-1) on the year and host Wright State in a one game series on April 5th. In sad news, Connor McVey's hitting streak ended on Friday. That ended a 20 game hit streak for McVey.

Now, for the first time ever on BSN. I'll talk about Bobcats baseball. Last year the Bobcats won the MAC Tournament and made it into the NCAA Tournament. This year the Bobcats are sitting at 11-16 overall with a 2-4 conference record. The Bobcats have lost their first two conference series games against NIU and Ball State. The most recent against Ball State, the Bobcats lost the rubber match 20-3. Looked like a football score at first glance. The Bobcats have 4 guys batting over .300 on the season. Mitch Longo leads the team with a .349 average. Tyler Finkler, Cody Gaertner, and Rott Rudy are batting higher than .315. Jake Roehn has the team's best ERA at 1.52. He has appeared in 12 games and has 2 saves.
