Feel Good Story of the Day

America's pastime is about to be surpassed for the next few months as football kicks off, but it doesn't mean the feel good stories are over.

Last night, Trevor Williams won in his major league debut. The 24 year old right hander out of Arizona State went 3 complete innings in relief against the Cardinals. He gave up 3 hits and struck out 3 Cardinals, leading the way to snapping a 8 game losing streak for the Pirates.

Now the win alone is impressive, but the next part will hit you in the feels.

After the game, Williams goes over to embrace his wife and kid. The next part gave me the chills. Williams gives his father a big huge and gives him the game ball following his first ever MLB win. Williams' father is battling lymphoma, which makes this moment that much more special.

Every boy who plays baseball dreams of getting to the bigs, and the one right by your side through it is all is your father. I know I spent countless hours in the front yard tossing with my dad. No matter what he was doing, he would drop it and toss with me if I asked. He took many pitches to the shins, but it didn't matter. There is just something special about playing catch with your dad. I can't imagine what the feeling is like for Williams and his father.
