Is this Finally the Cubs Year?

Pitcher Jake Arrieta
The Cubs have the best team in baseball, but is this the year they finally put it all together and break the curse? Arrieta is being Arrieta again this year. The craziest part about the Cubs superstar pitcher this year? He has the third best ERA among Cubs starters. Hendricks and Lester both sport ERA’s under Arrieta’s 2.91. Outside of Max Scherzer and Madison Bumgarner, Jake Arrieta’s biggest competition for another Cy Young Award comes from his own staff with Kyle Hendricks, who is absolutely on fire and leads Arrieta and Lester in most stat categories. Pair this dominating starting staff with a bullpen featuring Trevor Cahill, Aroldis Chapman, Pedro Strop and you won’t give up many runs. This type of pitching will be valuable beyond words once the weather cools down and the electricity around baseball ramps up for the postseason. Pitching isn’t all the Cubs have, boasting some of the biggest, hottest bats in the league.

So, the Cubs have it all. The starters, the bullpen, the bats. So, should you throw your money down on Cubs to win the World Series? I, for one, say no. I do not think Chicago will win the World Series. In baseball, the best team doesn't win every year. How many years have the Giants came out of nowhere to win? It’s a tough sport to predict, but I would bet on the Red Sox (+750) to win it all. However, if you’re a believer of baseball superstitions, throw some money down on San Francisco (+1,500). Though they’re play is slowing down lately, the Giants still have the top NL Wild Card spot. Put these guys in the playoffs, and, as history shows, anything can happen.
