My Bobcats are in the MAC Championship. Ohio finished 8-4 (6-2) in the MAC East. Their opponent, Western Michigan; is 12-0 (8-0) and is ranked #21 in the College Football Playoff standings. They will have a chance to play spoiler on Western Michigan's perfect season. Ohio is the underdog no doubt about it, however Ohio is no push over. Ohio has faced some tough opponents which should have them prepared for WMU.

Ohio almost went down to Tennessee and knocked off the Vols. If one of the five fumbles went their way who knows if the Bobbies would've walked away winners. They beat a very impressive Toledo team that has one of the best offenses in the nation. Western Michigan is going to be a tough test, but you can't count out Ohio.

Ohio boast the #37 ranked defense in the nation. That number is the defense all together. They give up roughly 21.7 ppg which is #22 in the nation. Western Michigan is ranked #38 overall, and has the 16th ranked scoring defense. Very evenly matched on the defensive side of the ball. That can bode well for Ohio. Aside from the shootout in game one, Ohio has been a bend but don't break defense.

WMU is going to rack up the yards, but if the Bobcats can keep them from scoring 7 that will be huge. The Broncos can score points. They are tied for #3 in the nation when it comes to scoring. Western Michigan averages 44.8 points per game. There is no shortage of offense for the Broncos. Ohio has been fairly banged up on offense so consistency has been a struggle. Scoring on avergae 26.8 ppg, Ohio has been keeping games close. Ohio has the firepower to score points, but that inconsistency could be the downfall in the MAC Championship game.

Ohio is led by QB Quinton Maxwell who took over for Greg Windham because of injury. Maxwell has stepped up for Ohio in Windham's absence. Maxwell is effective in the air and on the ground. He is a QB who can run the Read Option-Pass very well. The combination of Dorian Brown out of the backfield along with Papi White has been solid all year. Brown is the main back, while White is a RB/WR who you see in the slot more than anything. White has gained 203 yards on the ground and 510 receiving yards. The balance of Ohio's offense is what has made them tough to defend. Sebastian Smith is the top target. Smith leads the team in receptions (50) yards (825) and is tied for TD's at 4.

It will be an exciting game, but I got my Bobbies pulling off the upset. The defense will slow down the passing attack of Western Michigan. It will come down to the leg of Louie Zervos. Athens will be rocking and all hell will break loose.
