The Steelers Might Be Better Than Ever

RB DeAngelo Williams
As a Bengals fan, I'm not pumped about it, but the Steelers might be better than they have been in a while.

They looked well all around tonight against the Redskins, but they looked especially solid on offense. There were definite questions coming into this year about their offense after losing a great TE in Heath Miller, and WR Martavis Bryant. Also they will be missing star RB Le'Veon Bell for three more games due to failure to follow the leagues substance testing policy.

Despite the notable losses, their offense looked solid in their opener. Replacements played well across the board, namely DeAnelo Williams (143 RuYds, 2 RuTDs, and 6 Rec, 28 RecYds) and Jesse James (5 Rec for 31 Yds). They looked like a very complete team. Big Ben had a good game, taking care of the ball; he had one INT on a tipped ball. The receiving core, once again led by their stud WR Antonio Brown, had a solid outing with Sammie Coates and Eli Rodgers contributing. Bottom line, the Steelers have certainly reloaded, and I'm looking forward to seeing what they look like with Le'Veon Bell back in the line-up.

Defensively, they were the first of many teams that are going to struggle defensing the Redskins 3 TE sets. Washington creates mismatches in the secondary, and the Steelers definitely felt it, giving up 329 yards in the air. However, they made plays when they needed to and they were dominant against the run game only allowing 57 yards.

We'll see how the division plays out. Everyone should beat the crap out of the Browns as usual and the Ravens are yet to impress me. I think the Bengals are going to have another great season with the offense they showed week one, but they need to sure things up defensively.
