FC Cincinnati's season came to an end this past weekend with a 2-1 loss against Charleston Battery. After jumping out to an early 1-0 lead, FCC appeared to be in the driver seat, but that didn’t stop Charleston. The lone goal for FCC was by Eric Stevenson. The shot was unbelievable, and ESPN thought so too as it landed on SC Top 10 on Sunday.

It was an unbelievable season for the first year club. They finished 16-6-8 on the year and made it to the playoffs. They set records in attendance, hosted Crystal Palace FC for an exhibition match, and put the soccer world on high alert. Fox News Soccer had there fair share of stories about FCC. The USL may not get that much coverage, but FCC gave the league new life. So much so that the MLS is possibly looking at FC Cincinnati as an expansion candidate. This all happened in the first year of the club which is impressive.

Soccer fans all around the Cincinnati area flocked to Nippert Stadium to watch the club. There was something about that team that made this season so special. I felt the magic even though I never went to a game. I watched it via YouTube when they broadcasted the game live. I think the city has wanted a soccer team for awhile now, and it showed with the outstanding week to week support from the community. You can argue that it was like that because it was the first year, but I don't think it will lose steam. FC Cincinnati is really good, and with the latest news on the possibly MLS expansion. FCC is here to stay. I personally can't wait for year #2.
