Sophomore Lorenzo Nunez
As Will Muschamp settles into his first season in Columbia one of his biggest challenges will be finding consistency at the quarterback position.
Senior Perry Orth

Last season, Carolina's QBs were constantly battling the injury bug. They ended up having three different QBs start a game in 2015 as Connor Mitch, their original starter, was injured mid-season. They then bounced from Perry Orth to Lorenzo Nunez and back in what was a disappointing season for Gamecock fans. This instability at quarterback was most definitely a contributing factor to the team's lack of success, and the Gamecocks need to find a solid option for 2016 if they want to make a better showing.

This year, it looks like Muschamp is going to experiment early and have returning senior Perry Orth split reps with true freshman Brandon McIlwain. McIlwain was rated ESPN's #118 overall prospect and #7 dual threat QB in the class of 2016. Also, Muschamp has said that Lorenzo Nunez will be running both QB and WR this season. If Nunez can pan out at WR, he will be an important part of the Carolina offense as they lost their top 3 receivers from 2015, including Pharoh Cooper.
Freshman Brandon McIlwain

There still seems to be a lot of uncertainty under center at South Carolina; it seems like we won't know for sure until their opener at Vanderbilt (9/2).
